(1915 - 2004)
Semion Aronovich Rotnitsky was born December 28, 1915
in the city of Minsk, Belorussia, Russian Empire.
In 1948 Semion Rotnitsky graduated from the Repin
Institute of Arts in Boris Ioganson workshop.
He studied of Sergei Priselkov, Leonid Ovsannikov, Alexander Karev, Efim
Cheptsov, Mikhail Bernshtein, Pavel Naumov, and Alexander Zaytsev.
Since 1939 Semion
Rotnitsky has participated in Art Exhibitions.
He painted a portraits, historical and genre paintings,
landscapes, still-lifes.
His personal exhibitions were in Leningrad (1985), Saint-Petersburg
(1991, 1998, 2001, 2003, 2004), Bloomington, Scottsdale (USA, 1992).
Semion Rotnitsky was a
member of the Leningrad Union of Artists since 1948.
In 1957 Semion Rotnitsky
was awarded the honorary title of the Honored
Art Worker of the Tatar Republic (1957).
In 1948-1960 years
Semion Rotnitsky taught in Kazan
Secondary Art School, then in 1965-1983 in Vera Mukhina School of Art and
Industry in Leningrad.
His personal exhibitions were in Leningrad (1985),
Saint Petersburg (1991, 1998, 2001, 2003, 2004), Bloomington, Scottsdale
(USA, 1992).
Semion Aronovich
Rotnitsky died in Saint Petersburg in 2004.
