Was born 28 December 1915 in Minsk, Belorussia.
In 1948 Semion Rotnitsky graduated from Ilya Repin Institute in Boris Ioganson workshop.
Pupil of Sergei Priselkov, Leonid Ovsannikov, Alexander Karev, Efim Cheptsov, Mikhail Bernshtein, Pavel Naumov, Alexander Zaytsev.
Since 1939 he has participated in Art Exhibitions.
Member of LCRAU since 1948.
Honored Art Worker of the Tatar Republic (1957).
Painted a portraits, historical and genre pictures, landscapes, still-lifes.
Worked as Art Teacher and Head of Kazan Secondary Art School (1948-1960) and in Vera Mukhina Institute (1965-1983).
Personal Exhibitions in Leningrad (1985), St. Petersburg (1991, 1998, 2001, 2003, 2004), Bloomington, Scottsdale (USA, 1992).
